There is always a moment that defines an occasion. Yesterday it was Helen Walker and Cindy Costa offering up a duet of "Whispering Pine" during morning worship on Mother's Day. The ladies did a great job and it was a sermon in itself.My message talked about the ways that we can truly bless our children. Taking my cue from the text of John 15:1-8, I encouraged everyone to stay connected to the root, the true vine, Jesus. After church was over the Flower Committee distributed carnations to all the moms in attendance.
