CROP Walk 2010

On Sunday eight of us from First Baptist participated in the annual CROP Walk for world hunger. The walk stepped off at Lee Memorial United Methodist Church at shortly after 1:00 p.m. Pastor Ho Soon Han offered a prayer and Jill Corbin of St Vincent de Paul Soup Kitchen led the charge.

Mark Kane, Karen Barber, Priscilla Rogers, Betsey and Pete Adams, George Strouse and I walked the route while Zelda Earle staffed the rest station back at our church. Our walkers contributed nearly $500 of the $5,000 that was raised. The total amount raised was about the same as last year and about 25% of the money comes right back to Norwich.

Walking is always a lot of fun. Knowing that you are doing it in Christ's name to help the poor and needy is an added blessing. If you missed out on the action this year, you can sign up to join us next year.
